Ryan Gosling Fought With Rachel McAdams During The Notebook, Wanted Her Kicked Off Set
Ryan Gosling Fought With Rachel McAdams During The Notebook, Wanted Her Kicked Off Set

This may come as a surprise to some considering The Notebook is a fantastic love story, but Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams did not have the greatest relationship while working on set together.

Nick Cassavetes, the director, spoke out in a recent interview and said, “Maybe I’m not supposed to tell this story, but they were really not getting along one day on set. Really not,” he remembers. “And Ryan came to me, and there’s 150 people standing in this big scene, and he says, ‘Nick come here.’ And he’s doing a scene with Rachel and he says, ‘Would you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off camera with me?’ I said, ‘What?’ He says, ‘I can’t. I can’t do it with her. I’m just not getting anything from this.” There was obvious tension – but the filming was much more smooth after Ryan’s request was granted!!

It’s somewhat ironic that there was this much strain between the two actors considering they dated on and off for four years after The Notebook was released!!
